state of flow

At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.  – Lao Tzu

The art of being in the flow. Hours pass by. You forget to eat. You have no idea what time it is. Your surroundings fade out. You feel like you are in real life dream. You are channeling ideas from your higher source. You are truly immersed, engaged and absorbed in the moment. This is where real creativity is found. This is where the imagination creates beautiful things. There is something so graceful and elegant about being in this state. Nothing is being forced. Everything is just as it is meant to be.

The act of being in the state of flow happens when you are doing what you love. When you are in the centre of your being. When you feel the most wonderful. And this is when you perform the best: when you are closest to your true essence, your purpose.

And this state can be found everywhere, no matter what your passion is. I think to my brother who travels around the world snowboarding for a living. Artfully soaring through the air in the mountains comes naturally to him. He makes very difficult tricks look easy. Athletes are able to achieve amazing feats by finding the state of flow in their sport. This is true for creatives as well. My boyfriend is an amazing photographer and when he is taking photos, he becomes absorbed in the flow of what is around him. And beautiful things happen. He captures grace of the world around him that I could never see.

Being with certain people can help you feel this way too! You know how time passes so quickly when you are with those you enjoy being with? This is because you are in a state of blissful flow. You are not anywhere else but present. Not trying to control the outcome. And those things that are happening later... can be thought about later.

Allow yourself to be in the flow. Nourish your spirit by being present with those people and activities that allow you to experience this brilliant feeling!
